SteelGate LLC is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer, SME to join our team. This position will provide advanced technical support for the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-level unclassified and classified network infrastructure at HQ PACAF. This position focuses on hands-on engineering support, Tier 3 diagnostics, and optimizing the performance of a mission-critical communications environment in accordance with DoD and PACAF. Active Cisco CCNP (Routing & Switching or Enterprise Infrastructure) or equivalent advanced networking certification • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.All applicants must have current DoD Top Secret clearance day one and prior to entry on duty, with the ability to pass an SSBI background investigation to up-scope their clearance to Top Secret / SCI. Basic Required Qualifications and Skills: • Bachelor's degree in network engineering, information systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution. • Minimum of 8+ years of senior-level network engineering experience designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD networks • Technical expertise in: o Network architecture, routing protocols, firewall policy, QoS o VMware, Microsoft Teams, VoIP/Unified Comms, Windows Server o Cloud-enablement strategies and cross-domain solutions • Proven track record of designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD enterprise networks (classified and unclassified). • Advanced technical expertise in VMware, VOIP phones, Microsoft Teams, and Windows Server systems. • Expertise with network architecture, firewall policy, routing protocols, QoS, Cloud enablement strategies, and cross-domain solutions. • Experience performing Tier 3 O&M support, configuration, and engineering for large scale military networks. • Ability to provide: o System Design Plan (SDP) to include drawings, rack elevations, and configurations o Cable run details (fiber, copper, power, grounding) o Site preparation actions (facilities, power, grounding, bonding) o Systems Integration Test (SIT) and Systems Acceptance Test (SAT) plans • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). • Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively in rapidly changing environments • Proven ability to support senior leaders in a Joint Operations Center with technical expertise. • Cloud Architecture certification (AWS Solutions Architect, DoD Cloud certs). • 10+ years of Network Engineering experience with complex network systems. Provide Tier 3 network engineering support and troubleshooting for O&M operations across PACAF networks (NIPR/SIPR/Coalition). • Support SDP development in coordination with the lead Network Architect and A6 stakeholders. • Support implementation and sustainment of routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, and QoS configurations. • Conduct change management planning, including technical implementation procedures and risk assessments. • Execute network upgrades and integration of hardware/software solutions. • Perform diagnostics for complex network service issues. • Survey and assess facilities for potential upgrades. • Job Type: Full-time Location: Honolulu, Hawaii Salary: $ 150,000, based on experience Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday • On call STEELGATE LLC is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that prides itself in hiring top-level Subject Matter Experts (SME's) proven to exceed deliverable expectations.
