Position Overview

We’re representing a globally recognized logistics and freight forwarding organization seeking an experienced

Branch Manager

to lead its operations in the

Chicago (Elk Grove Village)

area. This role requires a results-driven leader with a blend of commercial acumen, operational expertise, and people management skills.

The Branch Manager will oversee all aspects of the location’s freight forwarding activities — including

air, ocean, and customs brokerage

— while driving performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that values leadership, accountability, and long‑term operational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations across

air, ocean, and customs brokerage

departments.

Ensure compliance with

U.S. Customs , TSA, and international trade regulations.

Oversee branch

P&L , budgeting, and cost management to ensure profitability.

Build and maintain strong customer, carrier, and overseas agent relationships.

Implement and refine

SOPs

to ensure consistent service quality and efficiency.

Address escalated operational issues quickly and effectively.

Lead, coach, and mentor staff to foster a high-performing and collaborative team.

Partner with senior management to develop and execute branch growth strategies.

Uphold company and regulatory compliance standards at all times.

Candidate Profile

Proven experience managing teams within a

freight forwarding or logistics

environment.

Strong understanding of

air, ocean, and customs brokerage

operations.

Demonstrated

P&L management

and budget accountability experience.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at prioritizing in fast‑paced environments.

Commercially focused, with a strong track record of driving service excellence and profitability.

Qualifications

Minimum of

5 years’ experience

in international freight forwarding.

At least

5 years in a leadership or supervisory

position.

Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).

Proficient in

Microsoft Office

and freight management systems.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass TSA, drug, and background checks.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
