The Director of FP&A is a strategic finance leader responsible for steering financial planning and analysis across a decentralized manufacturing enterprise. This executive will partner directly with the private equity sponsors, the CEO, and operational leaders across various manufacturing sites. The role requires expert financial oversight, deep involvement in M&A activities, and the ability to consolidate and analyze financial data from multiple business units to drive performance and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership

Serve as a key strategic partner to executive leadership and the PE sponsor, providing financial insights to support company goals and capital allocation.

Develop and manage the overall financial planning processes, including annual budgets, long-range financial plans, and ongoing forecasting.

Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights and present financial information to the board of directors and investors.

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational and financial performance across all manufacturing sites and business units.

Corporate Reporting & Consolidation

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation and reporting process for the entire organization, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial results.

Analyze company financial results regarding revenue, profitability, expenses, and cash flow, providing detailed variance analysis against plan and prior periods.

Leverage financial planning systems (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream) to automate reporting and standardize data flows from various business units.

Collaborate with the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate data inputs and reporting consistency across the decentralized structure.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Provide comprehensive financial support for M&A activities, from due diligence and financial modeling to integration planning.

Conduct financial analysis and valuation models for potential acquisition targets and strategic investments.

Lead the post-merger integration of acquired entities, including consolidating financial systems, aligning reporting processes, and identifying cost synergies.

Track the performance of acquisitions against deal-case metrics to provide management and the PE sponsor with visibility into value creation.

Operational & Decentralized Management

Serve as the primary financial partner to plant and operational managers, providing insights to drive cost optimization and margin improvement at each decentralized site.

Develop manufacturing-specific financial models, including cost accounting and inventory controls, to ensure accurate reporting and support operational decision-making.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, reporting capabilities, and forecasting accuracy across the organization.

Assist in capital expenditure planning and analysis to ensure alignment with strategic objectives across all facilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA is highly preferred.

Experience:

8+ years of progressive finance experience in a corporate setting, with significant experience in a private equity-backed company.

Manufacturing Expertise:

Deep knowledge of the manufacturing industry is essential, including proficiency in cost accounting, inventory management, and multi-site operations.

M&A Proficiency:

Proven track record of supporting M&A activity, including diligence, financial modeling, and post-close integration.

System Knowledge:

Advanced proficiency with financial planning systems (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream, Planful) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is strongly desired.

Technical Skills:

Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and data interpretation skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.

Interpersonal Skills:

Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
