About the role We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled

Senior Mechanical Engineer

to lead the design, development, and integration of electric motor and battery module systems for advanced electrified powertrains. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, thermal management, and structural analysis, with a focus on electric propulsion systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and analysis of electric propulsion components, including electric motors, battery modules, and their associated sub‑assemblies and components

Develop, optimize and validate electric motor assemblies and energy storage system sub‑assemblies for performance, safety, and reliability

Ownership of development packages, and delivery of these on time and on budget

Collaborate with other departments through hardware design, validation, delivery and operation (Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Test)

Conduct structural and thermal simulations using FEA and CFD tools to validate designs

Support prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical systems

Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation

Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality requirements

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement activities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering

7+ years of relevant work experience

Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PDM systems

Strong understanding of GD&T: ASME Y14.5-2009 & ASME Y14.100-2013

Experience with FEA and CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus)

Additional Qualifications

Experience in aerospace, automotive, or renewable energy sectors

Knowledge of systems engineering and model-based design

Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)

Aviation propulsion systems experience is advantageous

Location Applicants must be willing and able to commute to magniX's location in Everett, Washington.
