Description The Security Engineering Program (SEP) under Homeland and Force Protection at Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Satellite Communications Technician. In this role, you will provide both remote and on-site service, repair, and installation support for existing hardware, software, and communication network configurations across various locations. This position requires advanced technical expertise and the ability to apply complex principles and concepts. Primary Responsibilities As a key member of our team, you will: Diagnose mechanical or technical deviations from performance standards using established protocols and prepare reports analyzing failure trends and serviceability issues. Manage and handle Communications Security (COMSEC) material effectively. Provide on-site support services when necessary and assist in the development and implementation of procedural and policy changes within your area of expertise. Oversee entire projects or processes, taking responsibility for coaching and reviewing peer work. Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring collaboration with internal experts. Conduct in-depth analyses to assess the impact of changes on products or solutions. Basic Qualifications Active TS Clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain program SCI and Polygraph. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with Satellite Communication (SATCOM) systems, covering operations, engineering, design, installation, repair, and analysis. Expert knowledge of the DoD satellite resource allocation process. Experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) electronic material and Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI). Proficient in operating and installing satellite modems, including associated cables and interconnects; up converters, redundancy switches, down converters, solid-state power amplifiers, antenna systems, and various RF components. Expertise in electronic and radio frequency (RF) theory, spectrum analyzers, antennas, and operational principles of VSAT, COTM, and COTP systems. Normal color vision is required. Able to perform physical tasks related to maintenance, including standing for extended periods, climbing, lifting, and moving heavy objects. Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline. Compensation considerations include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
