MONTGOMERY ACADEMY 188 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ Immediately Hiring School Social Worker We have immediate need of hiring a School Social Worker to serve the needs of our special needs students aged 5 through 21 in our Basking Ridge location. As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social and emotional well-being of students.

Your expertise in behavioral health and child/family counseling will contribute to the success of our students.

Your responsibilities will include providing counseling services, collaborating with fellow staff members, and ensuring compliance with special education requirements.

Your skills in crisis intervention will be essential in meeting the diverse needs of our student population.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide individual and group counseling to students Collaborate with teachers, parent and other staff members to develop and implement interventions and support plans. Conduct crisis interventions as needed Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) for students with special needs Provide behavioral health support to students with social-emotional challenges Conduct research and stay up-to-date on best practices Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with other tea members to develop strategies for skill development Develop Individual Behavior Intervention Plans as needed Manage behaviors, strategies and Behavior Intervention Plans MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS: Master’s degree in School Social Work or related human services field DOE certification as a School Social Worker Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skills, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations Ability to work with a variety of students in regard to age and functionality, and with minimal direction Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook systems SKILLS: Knowledge of behavioral health principles and interventions Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques Ability to provide crisis intervention services effectively Familiarity with special education laws and regulations Strong research skills to inform evidence-based practices Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality Job Type:
