New Product Development Engineering Manager

Join Our Team as a New Product Development Engineering Manager! The New Product Development (NPD) Engineering Manager is pivotal in leading the innovative creation of products from concept to production. You will ensure they meet all performance, quality, budget, and scheduling targets. In this role, you will oversee and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of high performance and growth to meet product needs. As a key player, you will drive technical excellence, oversee project execution, and collaborate with product management, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Managing global design teams throughout the Stage-Gate process. Coordinating mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering activities to complete designs, build test units, and create documentation. Allocating tasks and managing resources effectively to meet project commitments. Developing schedules and managing projects of varying complexity with minimal supervision. Preparing and monitoring project budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved. Ensuring designs comply with specifications and standards, promoting error-proof assembly. Collaborating with specification writers to assess project feasibility. Implementing Lean design and manufacturing processes while ensuring design control practices are followed. Delivering innovative designs that meet profit, cost, and quality metrics. Overseeing the construction and testing of prototype components in the development process. Reviewing engineering drawings for manufacturing release and providing final approvals. Identifying and mitigating risks that may impact project success. Developing test plans aligned with project specifications, industry standards, and company reliability requirements. Conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting for new and existing products. Collaborating with vendors to develop high-quality, cost-effective design options. Interfacing with purchasing teams to select and approve components and assemblies. Creating documentation for processes, material requirements, testing results, and project activities. Continuously improving engineering processes to enhance costs, quality, and lead times. Participating in industry organizations to stay updated and influence industry practices. Providing engineering support to sales/marketing and manufacturing for product-related inquiries. Coaching and developing team members to enhance skills and efficiency. Managing performance evaluations and employee development plans. Participating in hiring, training, and disciplinary processes for team members. We Are Looking For Candidates Who: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Have 8+ years of experience in engineering design and development, including leading innovative projects. Possess strong project management skills, including root-cause analysis and computer analysis programs. Have experience in medium/high voltage electrical power systems. Have led development projects within a Stage-Gate process. Demonstrate technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical domains. Exhibit strong communication and mentoring abilities. Are proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software. Preferably have experience with industry publications. Show a history of creativity and a proactive approach to learning. What We Offer: The typical pay range is $111,828 - $148,113 annually, based on your skills and qualifications. This role also participates in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.
