About The IT QA Manager Role
We are seeking an experienced *IT QA Manager* to lead quality assurance strategy and transform automated testing capabilities as our client migrates to a new ERP platform. This *Quality Assurance Manager* position offers the opportunity to build a comprehensive QA roadmap and establish best practices across the IT organization in a fully *remote work* environment.
As *Software Quality Assurance Manager*, you'll implement risk-based testing methodologies across software systems, including validated systems ensuring compliance with regulations including 21 CFR Part 820 and computer system validation (CSV) requirements. This role is ideal for a strategic leader ready to modernize IT QA operations while maintaining rigorous compliance standards across the manufacturing systems landscape.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage offshore QA testing team (India-based managed services vendor with dedicated resources) * Develop comprehensive test strategies and QA roadmap to support ERP implementation and digital transformation * Oversee manual testing operations while driving transition to automated testing frameworks * Manage vendor relationships and staff augmentation for project-based testing needs * Ensure compliance with *21 CFR Part 820*, *GxP*, and *computer system validation (CSV)* requirements throughout SDLC * Lead planning, development, and execution of test strategies for IT systems supporting manufacturing operations * Review and approve validation documentation including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, test scripts, traceability matrices, and summary reports * Collaborate with Enterprise Quality team on validated systems testing and compliance * Review, update, and overhaul existing QA policies, procedures, and templates * Implement governance framework to ensure teams follow established testing protocols * Re-educate IT organization on QA best practices and establish value proposition for quality assurance * Continuously improve IT QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency * Lead adoption of *Tricentis* suite (Tosca, qTest, NeoLoad) once implemented (~18 months away) * Design and develop test automation frameworks to reduce manual testing burden * Provide regular status updates, QA metrics, and test coverage reports to stakeholders * Partner with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to identify testing needs and scope * Collaborate with site quality teams and enterprise quality on compliance requirements * Provide training to team members and stakeholders on validation and testing best practices
Must-Have Requirements
* *Bachelor's degree* * *7+ years of experience* in IT Quality Assurance * *3+ years in a QA leadership or management role* overseeing testing teams * Deep understanding of *software development lifecycle (SDLC)* and testing methodologies * Proven ability to develop *test strategies, roadmaps*, and implement QA programs * Experience with automated testing tools, performance testing platforms, and test management systems * Strong knowledge of test planning, test case development, defect management, and testing governance * Large enterprise or global company experience * Excellent *communication, documentation, and organizational skills* * Ability to influence and educate cross-functional teams on QA best practices * *Strategic thinking* with change management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
* Experience *managing offshore teams* or managed services testing vendors * *Regulated environment experience (ISO, FDA, SOX, HIPAA, etc.)* * Specific knowledge of *21 CFR Part 820 *helpful * Experience with *Computer System Validation (CSV)* and IQ/OQ/PQ testing protocols * *Computer Software Assurance (CSA)* experience or CSA framework implementation * Experience with *Tricentis tools* (Tosca, NeoLoad, qTest) * Familiarity with *ERP systems* (SAP, Oracle), *MES*, or manufacturing-related enterprise systems
