Position Summary The Controller will support the CFO and oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial insight. This role is critical in supporting Lion Energy’s financial health and operational efficiency and will work closely with executive leadership to drive informed decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the accounting team, including AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting.

Perform and oversee monthly and annual close processes.

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities and perform variance analysis.

Project manage financial statement audits, sales tax, and income tax filings.

Collaborate with HR and Operations on payroll, benefits, and cost allocations.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Implement and optimize financial systems and tools.

Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.

Support CFO with other duties upon request.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Ideal candidate is a CPA with a mix of Big 4 and corporate accounting experience.

5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

Experience in manufacturing, energy, or consumer products industry preferred.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software. ERP experience, especially NetSuite (and QuickBooks a plus).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a growth‑oriented environment.
