Job Summary : Perform a variety of writing, project management, and design tasks on behalf of the Executive Vice President for Health Sciences and CEO for University of Utah Health, and other system leaders, while using a high level of discretion and confidentiality, good judgment, and strong interpersonal skills to plan and execute communication strategies. Utilizes traditional and digital publishing technologies to produce communications that implement project objectives.
Responsibilities :
Develop written content for a variety of executive communications—including social media, blogs, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, announcements, and publications.
Optimize content and platform strategy to drive continued growth and engagement.
Responsible for compiling monthly reports for University of Utah Board of Trustees.
Responsible for tracking and reporting monthly analytics to monitor effectiveness of communication tactics and adjust plans as necessary.
Collaborate with the Department and other clientele to conceptualize and execute various projects.
Fact‑check and copy‑edit strategic communications before distribution/publication.
Ensure distribution of materials to multiple channels in accurate and timely manner.
May perform other related technical duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences :
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 4 years of related experience, or equivalency; excellent writing and verbal communication skills; experience managing social media accounts and producing content on different platforms; project management and strong interpersonal skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software and content management systems; ability to work individually and in a team setting.
Previous experience producing and supporting communications on behalf of executive leadership.
Previous experience using Sprout Social.
Some areas may require additional skills in interviewing, web writing, graphic design, photography, audio & video production, and oral presentation.
