This position is for part‑time head coach in the Division of Physical Education and Athletics. Representative Duties
Coach women's soccer team for an adjunct pool, coaching student population that is diverse in academic preparation, cultural, socioeconomic, ethnic backgrounds, and physical and learning abilities. Coach For Women’s Soccer
Coaching at games and tournaments scheduled in the evening and/or Saturdays. Desirable Qualifications
Successful experience as a head coach/assistant coach at the college, university, or high school level. Expertise in physical education/fitness, recreation, health education/wellness, nutrition or related fields and a specialization in coaching. Recent teaching experience in physical education, health education or related field. Energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence in athletics. Experience in and demonstrated recruiting contacts. An understanding of the advantages and challenges of developing and maintaining a program and team sports in a small, rural community college. Ability, interest, and willingness to develop and maintain working relationships with local high schools to facilitate recruiting and articulation of the soccer program. Ability to deliver instruction using strategies designed for diverse learning styles. Willingness to work with students from diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities. Required Licenses
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License. Minimum Qualifications
• Any bachelor’s degree AND two years of coaching experience/professional experience. • OR any associate degree AND six years of coaching experience/professional experience. • OR equivalent combination. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications must submit an Application for Equivalence form. AND a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS (Extended)
Master’s degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; OR bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND master’s degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; OR the equivalent. Provide coaching, instructional and/or non‑instructional services to a diverse campus and community environment. Maintain a course outline for each assigned course. Keep accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. Maintain currency in subject matter; communicate with students and staff professionally. Demonstrate versatility in coaching/instructional methodology for diverse students. Familiar with and observe college and Board policies, and current guidelines governing college sports. Willingness to promote the college through community service and outreach. Develop fundraising activities to support the women's soccer program. Rate
$66.00/hour; hourly rate may vary based on type of assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. Special Instructions
