Position Summary Substitute paraeducators work on an as‑needed basis during the school year to fill in for absences and vacancies in a variety of roles, including:
General education support
Special education
One‑on‑one and classroom support
Assignments vary by school and student need. To stay active in the sub pool, accepting two jobs per month is generally expected. If availability is limited, please keep us in the loop.

Note: Substitute paraeducators are not required to complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) or hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
Pay Rates Pay rates for paraeducator substitutes are determined by assignment type, not prior experience or education.
Paraeducator Level A: $25.29/hour
Paraeducator Level B: $26.71/hour
Schedule This is an on‑call, as‑needed position. Assignment times and shift lengths vary widely based on school schedules, student needs, and the specific paraeducator role.
Shifts may span a full day, partial day, or shorter time blocks – especially if covering a position that is less than 1.0 FTE.
Fridays are shortened district‑wide due to Professional Growth Fridays (PGF). Most Friday assignments are approximately 2 hours shorter than Monday‑Thursday.
Example Schedules (actual times vary slightly by school)
Elementary Schools:
8:35 AM – 3:15 PM (Mon‑Thurs) / 8:35 AM – 1:15 PM (Fri)
8:10 AM – 2:50 PM (Mon‑Thurs) / 8:10 AM – 12:50 PM (Fri)
Middle/High Schools:
7:30 AM – 2:12 PM (Mon‑Thurs) / 7:30 AM – 12:12 PM (Fri)
7:30 AM – 2:10 PM (Mon‑Thurs) / 7:30 AM – 12:10 PM (Fri)
Actual hours for each job will be listed in Frontline when assignments are posted. You choose which assignments to accept based on your availability, and you may indicate preferred schools, grade levels, or assignment types.
To be successful in this role, you should be available to accept same‑day assignments between 5:00‑7:00 AM.
Minimum Qualifications To be eligible, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
Meet the qualifications listed in the job descriptions (see attached files)
AND meet one (1) of the following:
Have an associate degree or higher
Have 72 quarter or 48 semester college credits (100‑level or above from an accredited college or university)
Score 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment

Applications will be reviewed once complete, including the return of all required confidential reference surveys (at least one must be from a recent supervisor).

Path B – Degree or College Credits (official transcripts; copies of official transcripts are accepted)
