Role Overview The

Service & Solutions Account Executive

supports the Solutions (New Construction) and Service Agreements businesses within the commercial Smart Buildings Total Fire Alarm & Life Safety and Security Systems team. You will achieve booking and profit goals by developing and implementing plans to grow, develop, and manage contractor, consultant, authority having jurisdiction, developer, and end‑user relationships; capitalize on sales opportunities; and execute sophisticated deals independently within our established guidelines.

Responsibilities

Achieve new order/booking and profit goals based on your assigned quota.

Develop and maintain a qualified funnel of opportunities and forecast expected order intake, delivering on forecasted results consistently.

Keep current on automation, electrical, fire, mechanical, and IoT market business and product trends, and develop a comprehensive market understanding.

Develop a vertical market and account management plan focused on strategic growth and identify new business opportunities in new markets or adjacent segments.

Act as a consultant to multiple levels of the customer’s organization, understanding challenges and recommending services to ensure systems perform to achieve business goals.

Attend industry‑specific networking events and actively participate in professional organizations such as NFPA, NFSA, ASHE, NBFAA, AFAA, IFMA, SAME, and 7x24.

Consult with customers to determine budgeting and investment requirements.

Position Siemens as an industry leader among service providers, leveraging our world‑class digital service delivery.

Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Work with internal sales support to spend more time with customers.

Collaborate with sales estimators to prepare cost estimates and customer bid packages.

Partner with other sales business teams to plan, target, and acquire new projects and accounts.

Set pricing based on the value of the services offered.

Work with operations, finance, legal, and other resources to obtain the sale.

Participate in department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.

Spend a minimum 50% of time in customer‑facing activities, performed in person and on customer sites; 20% of time covering Bloomington, IL territory.

Support existing customers while acting as a hunter to bring in new customers.

Travel overnight approximately 15% for training and business development as required by your territory.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or state‑recognized GED.

8+ years of experience with sales, account and business development, or consulting within the commercial fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, life safety, low voltage, or similar building/construction industries.

Demonstrated knowledge of common fire and life safety systems and equipment, and familiarity with building fire alarm codes and standards (IFC, IBC, NFPA, etc.).

Financial expertise estimating and selling technical solutions and service product lines effectively and independently, with strong account development and strategic sales skills.

Experience selling service agreements to multiple levels of the customer’s organization.

Organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Verbal and written communication skills in English.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and limited violations.

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (preferred).

Experience selling to electrical and general contractors, and performing fire alarm design services with electrical/fire protection engineers (preferred).

Proficiency with Salesforce CRM (preferred).
