Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as VP of Finance & Performance. This role focuses on evaluating customer-level economics, analyzing cost structures, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven financial insights. You will play a critical role in ensuring profitable growth and margin optimization by examining customer performance, product costing, and operational efficiency. It is imperative that you have good communication skills in order to work with all levels of personnel at Testa Produce and our parent organization, FreshEdge. Responsibilities
Monitor company operations, project timelines, business developments, and employee productivity while assisting efforts to build a highly inclusive culture to ensure team members thrive. Analyze customer-level profitability by evaluating sales history, pricing, gross profit trends, rebates, and operational costs. Build and maintain financial models to support customer segmentation, account performance tracking, and cost-to-serve assessments. Partner with sales, ops and finance to identify margin enhancement opportunities across customer groups and product lines. Conduct monthly variance analyses on actuals vs. forecast/budget, and explain financial performance drivers. Execute performance scorecards at the customer, employee, department and/or organization levels. Develop reporting dashboards and financial scorecards for key customers, customer groups, product groups and/or regions. Support the monthly forecast and annual operating plan (AOP) by integrating account-level performance insights. Conduct ROI and breakeven analysis for new business opportunities and strategic initiatives. Identify inefficient or unprofitable accounts and provide data-driven recommendations for pricing or service model changes. Participate in special projects related to margin recovery, customer renegotiations, and pricing strategies. Ensure accuracy and transparency of data used in profitability assessments, collaborating with IT and data teams where needed. Collaborate with all management staff to identify and deliver the required administrative support operations for the organization Monitor customer receivables and work with Sales Reps and Accounts Receivable (AR) Department to ensure timely collection. Set and maintain customer credit limits to minimize risk of excessive past due AR balances. Work alongside the President and Chief Operating Officer to set and drive the organizational vision and mission, corporate strategy, and hiring needs. Team & Culture Development Functions
Build and maintain trusted relationships with other professionals, customers, suppliers, business partners, and organizations in the industry. Collaborate and excel in working with other functional areas to create efficient and effective processes for serving customers. Foster a strong performance focus on the part of all functional areas. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or management. MBA or equivalent preferred. 10+ years of experience in a senior management position, preferably as a CFO or similar role. Proficient skills in Produce Pro or similar ERP software is preferred. Microsoft Office and common E Mail systems are required. Experience with Tableau is a plus. Customer-Team Experience – History of working seamlessly with other functional counterparts on the overall go-to-market strategy, new product initiatives and customer specific plans. History of consistently using individual customer goals, strategies and capabilities to tailor programs that generate success for both company and customer. Physical Demands
