About The Position Job Title: Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, start times vary from 6:00 to 9:00 AM, includes Weekends Hours per Shift: Varies Experience: Recent hospital experience preferred. License: Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for reciprocation in Pennsylvania within 90 days of hire. Certifications: Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years if rotating to the Anticoagulation Clinic. Must-Have: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred. Pharmacy residency experience preferred for ambulatory positions. Advanced practice certifications preferred. Description: The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist provides comprehensive patient care services through inpatient pharmacy functions. This includes order entry and verification, medication checking and dispensing, and other pertinent tasks that ensure the safe and effective use of medications. The Pharmacist may also rotate into ambulatory roles such as anticoagulation clinic services or oncology, as determined by management. The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist will be involved in patient care activities supporting a variety of patient populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics. Knowledge of all current state and federal laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy is required. The ability to positively interact with pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, providers, nurses, and other health system employees is essential. This position receives minimal supervision from the Pharmacy Manager and Supervisors.
