Position Overview The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sales department, ensuring profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee development. This individual will lead by example, coach and motivate the sales team, and drive key performance metrics that align with Classic Honda of Midland’s values and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Manage sales operations, including new and pre‑owned vehicle inventory, pricing, and merchandising.
Develop and implement strategies to improve sales processes, customer experience, and team performance.
Maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores by ensuring an exceptional buying experience.
Collaborate with the finance and service departments to ensure seamless customer transitions.
Conduct regular sales meetings and performance reviews.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and dealership performance metrics.
Ensure compliance with all dealership policies and federal/state regulations.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and ethical sales practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an automotive Sales Manager or equivalent role (minimum 3–5 years preferred).
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Track record of exceeding sales targets and driving team performance.
Deep understanding of automotive retail operations, including inventory management and financing.
Proficiency with CRM and dealership management systems (e.g., Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds, VinSolutions).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
