We're looking for a curious, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mind to join our Global Research team as a VP specializing in U.S. residential living sectors. This role is an opportunity to shape the future of real estate investment by digging into the trends that drive how people live from multifamily rentals to student housing to manufactured homes. You'll work with a tight-knit team of researchers and investors, turning insights into strategies that make a real impact. The VP will report to Head of Americas Research and will be part of the Global Research team, responsible for conducting property market, capital market and macroeconomic research. The role will focus on research into the living sectors (rental, student housing, and manufactured housing) in the United States. It will also be a key position in supporting the identification, creation and execution of future real estate investment areas of high conviction.

Specific responsibilities include

Conduct research on investment themes and trends in the United States to help inform investment decisions, with a focus on residential living sectors (rental, student housing, and manufactured housing)

Assist with the development of investment strategies based on real estate market analysis and forecasts

Assist in real estate investment underwriting and contribute to investment memoranda by providing market analysis and insights

Tracking of trends that are likely to affect residential property markets and the economy

Update and maintain proprietary databases, resources, and models relevant to QuadReal's business objectives within U.S. markets

Keep current on major political, economic, and market events that impact residential real estate investments within U.S. markets

Collaborate with members of the research, asset management, investment, debt and portfolio management teams on broader US living research projects as they arise

Explore existing and new research and data sources to enhance acumen and capabilities of research team

Contribute to creating research communications, house views, and white papers where appropriate

Education: You will hold at least an undergraduate degree, preferably with, but not limited to, a Real Estate, Economics, Urban Planning, or Geography specialization.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience within the real estate / institutional investment industry, or any other related sector or industry. Previous experience in a research and strategy related role within the living sector is essential.

Skills: Analytical Demonstrated quantitative and critical thinking skills; detail-oriented and proficient in developing and handling complicated data sets.

Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.

Organization: Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple asks and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and to change.

Relationships: Must be highly proactive and work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to move projects forward autonomously.

Software: Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. GIS knowledge would be a benefit but not required.

Technology: Be familiar with relevant data, analytics, and AI tools. Including but not limited to Macrobond, PowerBI, and Copilot.
