Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to support our finance team. This role is responsible for managing customer communications related to outstanding balances, facilitating timely payments, and maintaining accurate records of receivables. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a customer-focused approach, and experience in collections or accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate and manage daily contact with customers regarding overdue payments.
Negotiate and establish repayment plans based on customer financial situations.
Advise customers on strategies and actions for resolving outstanding balances.
Document all collection activities and maintain accurate records.
Resolve customer issues that may delay payment and facilitate prompt resolution.
Send monthly statements and maintain the receivables database.
Support internal audits and participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or collections; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BPCS).
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
Work Environment Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Schenectady, NY office, 2 days remote.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
