Royalties Analyst – Walt Disney Studios
Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for TWDC, encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing. DMG distributes music physically and digitally, and licenses music across media such as television, print, gaming, and consumer products.
DMG is currently seeking an Artist Royalties Analyst for its Recorded Music Royalties team. This role will focus primarily on DMG’s catalog releases and be involved in all aspects of artist royalties: interpreting agreements for recorded music participants (artists and producers), reviewing and updating existing set-ups, preparing accurate and timely royalty statements, requesting payments, clearing accruals, calculating union obligations, and responding to internal and external inquiries.
Responsibilities
Review recording participant information and contract database to determine if royalty obligations exist and update systems as needed.
Review recording and producer agreements, deal memos, and other documents to identify and enter royalty rates and terms into DMG’s royalty system, meeting monthly deadlines.
Prepare and review quarterly and semi‑annual statements, meeting contractual deadlines.
Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Support special projects related to royalties.
Qualifications
0–2 years of artist royalties experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V‑lookups, etc.).
Strong math skills and high level of accuracy.
Detail‑oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.
Effective communicator, both verbally and written, with strong people skills.
Positive attitude and proactive, resourceful, and flexible mindset.
Compensation: $71,700–$87,500 per year. Base pay may vary based on internal equity and individual qualifications. Additional compensation may include bonuses, long‑term incentive units, and a full benefits package.
