Basic Job Functions The Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing journal entries and analysis of the key financial costs and metrics to provide the operations team with the financial perspective and information to make better business decisions. This position will work closely with all departments to analyze departmental costs and drive continuous improvements across all aspects of the business. The Cost Accountant will be heavily involved in the month end close process, including but not limited to journal entries, financial reporting, fixed asset and capital project financial management, and monthly financial reconciliations.

Cost Accountant Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger

Corporate, Tax and Divisional Reporting

Assist in the internal and external audit processes

Prepare and maintain documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls

Work closely with all department to analyze and evaluate departmental costs and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the business

Participate in month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial reports.

Starting Salary $60K with Return on Assets Bonus

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) year degree in Accounting or Finance.

2+ years accounting related experience

Ability to work in a team environment.

Strong computer skills that include experience with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).

Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays. Occasional travel is required.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, CPA or CMA

Experience with product costing, inventory analysis and managerial concepts in manufacturing.

Working knowledge of GAAP and an effective internal controls.
