Responsibilities

Support the Assistant Director, Technology Services in the development, optimization, and training of EHR systems and associated clinical workflows.

Supervise projects related to EHR and clinical system upgrades, ensuring timely delivery, alignment with clinical objectives, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Provide technical support and maintenance for EHR systems, ensuring reliability and user satisfaction.

Participate in system testing and validation to confirm functionality and compliance.

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and enhance system usability.

Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials and presentations for new and existing users; maintain the EHR knowledge base.

Lead and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of enhancements to EHR and clinical management systems, including LIS, scheduling, and billing platforms.

Serve as a clinical liaison to coordinate with clinical staff, ancillary departments, and student services.

Apply interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR for seamless data exchange.

Conduct research and technical analysis to resolve EHR configuration issues.

Collaborate with the UHS IT team to evaluate new technologies and implement innovative solutions.

Support the development and refinement of clinical workflows to improve efficiency and care delivery.

Lead initiatives to implement online EHR functionalities (e.g., secure messaging, telehealth, patient portals).

Represent UHS IT on internal and external committees and facilitate system integration and data exchange initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience.

Per-employment TB testing and successful completion of post-hire OSHA training and immunizations.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in a clinical environment.

Direct experience with EHR systems.

Solid understanding of health IT fundamentals.

Typical Day Providing clinical IT support to UHS staff; collaborating with EHR vendors to troubleshoot system issues; implementing enhancements to streamline workflows and improve patient care.

First 60‑90 Days Gain proficiency in providing clinical IT support, manage daily clinical IT operations, and understand workflows of UHS and FSU.
