Senior Desk Adjuster – Casualty
Senior level role that investigates and maintains complex or highly complex claims property/casualty claims. Determines liability, secures information, reviews coverages, arranges appraisals, and settles claims. May specialize in liability, property, or catastrophe claims.
This position will be seated in a Sentry office location, or in the Alpharetta, GA or Tampa, FL area.
What You’ll Do
Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, witnesses, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel, etc.
Handle both 1st party and 3rd party bodily injury claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.
Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close file as needed.
Interpret and determine policies, leases, by‑laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply to all parties for assigned losses.
Make independent decisions and self‑supervise most files and recognize when assistance is needed.
Proactively provide all parties with claim process and status as appropriate; answer questions or redirect to other areas.
Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed. Handle claims on a good‑faith basis.
Evaluate bodily injury damages and handle claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters.
Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.
May be required to complete other assignments, job duties, or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.
What It Takes
Experience providing customer‑driven solutions, support or service.
Extensive knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.
Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi‑line claims.
Demonstrated experience handling simple to moderately complex claims.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements.
Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
Travel requirements up to 10% and catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable.
