Program Summary KBR’s Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) division is the Team Behind the Mission®. We deliver mission‑critical services to the U.S. military and coalition partners around the world. Our key capabilities include base operations; contingency and expeditionary support; next asset management; digitally focused logistics; prepositioned stock; and integrated supply chain management.

Job Summary The Project Control Specialist will play a key role within project and functional teams, interacting with all levels of Program and Finance Management as well as colleagues in other functional areas. They will be responsible for forecasts, controls, and cash‑flow reporting, as well as compliance, for an associated portfolio of projects spanning various contract types, terms, and levels of complexity. The role supports reporting of accounting, financial management, and customer aspects at the project level as well as the administration of the change‑control process. The Project Controls Specialist may also be responsible for reviewing project costs incurred by category, calculating future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontracts, wage rates, and risk analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities

Review project costs incurred by category to develop revenue and project forecasting, backlog reporting, and program cash flow.

Record actual/committed cost and work‑hours, develop project variances, and conduct trending analysis of commitments and expenditures.

Coordinate with procurement, material managers, and engineering work‑group leads regarding essential items of supply and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling.

Actively participate in the identification of priorities for projects to guarantee completion.

Estimate future cost calculations based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontracts, wage rates, and risk analysis.

Guide corporate budget and forecast activities for the project portfolio, evaluating and documenting opportunities and risks, consolidating, presenting, and obtaining approvals at the portfolio level.

Establish financial controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract/program status and ensure compliance with SOX, government, and customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and 3+ years of financial analysis experience.

Demonstrated expertise in project controls concepts (budgets, estimates to complete, project schedules, etc.).

Knowledge of financial accounting principles as they relate to U.S. GAAP.

Strong understanding of government contracting fundamentals as well as government regulations and standards.

Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.

U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient knowledge in the use of Deltek Costpoint, COBRA, COGNOS, Hyperion, Power BI.

Knowledge of standard government agency reporting requirements (NASA, DOD, DOS, FEDSIM).

Knowledge of Time and Material (T&M) Government Contracts.

Understanding of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting.

Compensation The compensation range for this position is between $80‑105k. Actual compensation may vary depending on candidate location and experience.
