Overview
The family is seeking a highly responsible, compassionate, and flexible candidate who enjoys taking care of animals. Someone with prior experience being around dogs, cats, chickens, and other household animals. The schedule is split with another person. There are two daily shifts. One shift is 7 am- 3 pm, and the other is 10 am-6 pm plus every other weekend. The family strives for a work-life balance so the candidates will rotate the schedules and always have two days off. The candidate needs to be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic household environment in Los Angeles with multiple properties. The family is looking to hire immediately.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for dogs & cats to include: Feeding, walking, training, exercise, playtime, & administering medications as needed.
Oversee chicken coop care, including feeding, cleaning, egg collection, and ensuring safety from other animals.
Monitor animal health, behaviors, and report any concerns promptly to the household manager and veterinarian.
Maintain clean and organized animal living spaces (kennels, coop, etc).
Safely transport animals between properties, to veterinary appointments, or grooming appointments.
Follow strict schedules for feeding, medications, and routines.
Coordinate and work with veterinarians, groomers, and trainers.
Ensure animals are safe and comfortable when household staff, guests, or children are present.
Requirements
Must be legal to work in the US
Minimum 3+ years of professional animal care experience (households, kennels, or veterinary background preferred).
Strong knowledge of dog & cat behavior, training basics, and handling multiple dogs at once.
Experience with chickens or willingness to learn.
Highly flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Ability to travel to different properties as needed.
Must be reliable, trustworthy, kind, discreet, and passionate about animal welfare.
Salary and Benefits The clients are paying $35/hr.
