Job Type: Full-Time Location: Jackson, TN Department: Children’s Services
Position: Residential Placement Team, Network Development division located in Madison County.
Background Check Required: Yes, candidate must provide criminal history disclosure and fingerprint sample.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least four years of professional work in counseling, case management services, or program evaluations. Three years of these experiences must be with children and/or juveniles.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Up to one year of graduate coursework credit (36 hours) in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, human services, or child development may substitute for one year of experience, but not for the required three years of children’s services.
Substitution of Experience for Education: One year as a DCS Program Specialist or DCS Case Manager level 3 with the State of Tennessee is equivalent to one year of education.
Special Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old, U.S. citizen, possess a valid driver’s license, have good moral character, no felony convictions, agree to release criminal records, provide fingerprint sample, and pass a drug screening.
Overview This position involves program evaluation, coordination, and consultative work of considerable difficulty, as well as policy and procedure development. The role requires ensuring programs and contracts are administered per policies, performing monitoring, and may involve supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Implement statewide quality improvement initiatives and manage relationships with external stakeholders; maintain and distribute monthly program placement reports.
Communicate with regions and other divisions to provide accurate information for investigative tasks, and strengthen partnerships with community agencies.
Approve necessary services for children entering custody based on information from case management staff.
Use review tools to assess field staff practice, monitor service provision, assess outcomes, and promote program improvement.
Additional Requirements
State Driver Standards: valid driver’s license and no record of DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than four moving violations in the past five years. Exceptions may apply.
