Up to $10,000 SUMMARY: The Addiction Counselor plays a vital role in providing comprehensive addiction assessments, formulating treatment plans, managing cases, and delivering individual and group therapy for clients struggling with chemical dependency. You will work collaboratively as part of a clinical team supervised by a psychiatrist. RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary therapist offering Substance Use Disorder treatment through both individual and group therapy. Ensure timely completion of progress summaries and all necessary patient documentation. Conduct quality audits of patient records and processes. Perform initial and ongoing assessments for clients to determine accurate diagnoses and appropriate levels of care. Provide engaging individual, family, and group counseling to motivate clients throughout their treatment journey. Develop individualized and culturally sensitive treatment plans. Facilitate communication among care providers and referral sources to enhance understanding of client issues and strengths. Participate in professional supervision and ongoing education to improve client care quality. Complete required medical record documentation promptly and in compliance with relevant regulations. Meet productivity targets by employing various techniques to enhance client engagement and reduce missed appointments. Contribute effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver patient care. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least 1 year of work experience in a chemical dependency or mental health program. CASAC certification, or CASAC-T permitted with the requirement that full certification is obtained within 24 months, or OASAS QHP (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT or permit holder). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in a human service field (Associates, Bachelors, or Master's). EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
QHP - Qualified Health Professional - NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but it may include walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are only required occasionally and all other criteria for sedentary work are met.
