Position Summary
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) works under general supervision to perform diagnostic procedures for patients using an MRI Machine. Responsible for patient safety and the performance of high‑quality MR studies. Ensures effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. This position is PRN‑mostly Saturdays but some during the week if needed.
Responsibilities
Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications, and aseptic injection technique.
Produces high-quality diagnostic images.
Orders supplies and cleans the workspace.
Effectively communicates with customers, doctors, and other staff members.
Trains new MRI Techs and/or support staff.
Requirements
Graduate from a Certified Radiologic Technology program.
Current certification ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT.
Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate from a Certified Radiologic Technology program.
Current certification ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT.
Current BLS certification.
Physical Guidelines
Standing/walking for up to eight or more hours/day.
Bending, stooping, twisting as required.
Assist patients in turning, arising from exam table and returning to wheelchair.
Push wheelchair patients.
Personal Characteristics
Strong interpersonal abilities.
Excellent telephone skills and etiquette.
Maintains confidentiality.
Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique and basic health and safety precautions.
Use and apply medical terminology appropriately.
Service orientation.
Ability to relate sensitively to patients’ needs.
Well-\u2011organized.
Organizational Relationships Accountable to the Imaging Manager.
Employment Details
Part-time, PRN.
Mostly Saturdays, with occasional weekdays as needed.
