Job Title: Endoscopy Technician Profession: Endoscopy Technician Specialty: Endoscopy Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 5 years of previous lab experience in endoscopy reprocessing or central sterile reprocessing. License: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certifications: Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) (Required), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred) Must-Have: - High School Equivalent / GED - Previous patient care experience in an Endoscopy Center or Department - Capable of working with varied equipment - Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate - Ability to function independently - Basic written and verbal communication skills Description: Assists in safe, efficient endoscopic procedures that physicians will use as a tool for making a diagnosis for adult patients. Assists in procedure rooms in caring for patients, obtaining specimens, as well as cleaning and turnaround of procedure rooms. Expert in high-level disinfected practices and record keeping. Proficient in endoscopic equipment, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Accurately decontaminates and reprocesses endoscopic equipment and accessories. Maintains the cleanliness of all procedure rooms and reprocessing rooms. Maintains inventory of endoscopy supplies, reprocessing supplies, and equipment. Under the direction of an RN, assists in procedure rooms to care for patients, obtain specimens, and clean and turnaround procedure rooms and pre- and post-recovery areas. Assists in the recovery room to greet patients and assists RNs with the care and discharge of patients.
