Job Summary
At Connectly we are building the future of conversational commerce in Latin America with a focus on WhatsApp. Buying on WhatsApp is ubiquitous in Latin America, yet only small businesses have made it truly seamless by asking real people to respond to WhatsApp messages. We at Connectly are building an AI‑powered sales platform for large retailers.
We are a VC backed Series B startup with a world‑class team coming from Facebook, Google, Uber and other Silicon Valley companies. We are a remote‑first company with offices in San Francisco, São Paulo and Bogotá.
Responsibilities
Leading the design and implementation of the next evolution of the conversational AI platform, from agentic sales and marketing components to an AI testing framework, analytics, and infrastructure.
Planning, growing and optimizing the AI serving platform running on AWS.
Interfacing and contributing to components that integrate with CRMs, WhatsApp APIs, eCommerce platforms like Shopify and VTEX.
Partnering with product, sales, forward‑deployed teams and C‑suite to ensure high quality and impactful delivery of the platform and all its components.
What will make you excel at this job
Strong technical expertise in the AI space. Knowledge and experience with the latest open‑source agentic frameworks.
Knowledge and experience of the latest LLM technology, prompting techniques, tool use, testing methodology.
Knowledge and experience with the latest cloud ecosystems, AWS and GCP.
Strong communication skills to lead and propose technical strategy for individual components and overall platform.
Attention to detail and passion for excellence in customer experience.
Strong drive for results. In a startup, the candidate will need to make decisions, learn and iterate.
Curiosity and willingness to learn are essential for being successful in a high‑paced startup environment with a rapidly changing technology landscape.
Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years of technology industry experience in a hands‑on engineering role.
3+ years of experience building and launching AI products.
Experience working in high‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
Experience building backend using Python.
Experience building frontend solutions, agentic systems, and understanding of recent frameworks is a strong plus.
Experience working in TypeScript is a plus.
