As we scale our manufacturing operations and expand our product lineup, we’re looking for a
Cost Accountant
who loves digging into the details. Someone who sees the story behind the numbers and uses it to drive smarter decisions. This isn’t just about spreadsheets and reconciliations; it’s about building the financial foundation that powers our next stage of growth.
The Impact You’ll Have This isn’t your typical accounting role — you’ll play a central part in how we scale efficiently, profitably, and sustainably. In this role, you’ll:
Own our cost structure
: managing and optimizing Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness across our manufacturing partners.
Bring clarity to complexity
: analyzing material, labor, and overhead costs to uncover insights and identify efficiency gains.
Keep inventory in sync
: overseeing inventory tracking, reconciliation, and reporting across physical counts, ERP systems, and financial statements.
Be our on-the-ground connector
: providing occasional on-site support for audits, process reviews, and relationship management with manufacturing partners.
Level up our systems
: play a key role in implementing advanced inventory and ERP systems that will streamline how we operate.
Collaborate cross-functionally
: working closely with operations, procurement, and supply chain to understand cost drivers and inform smarter planning.
Contribute strategically
: helping shape budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial models that support our rapid growth.
What Makes You Right for This You’re a sharp, analytical thinker who thrives on precision, but you also see beyond the numbers. You understand that cost accounting isn’t just about control; it’s about clarity — the kind that helps a business scale with confidence.
Specifically, you bring:
2–3 years of accounting experience, ideally with a consumer goods or DTC brand.
Hands‑on experience with
Bill of Materials (BOM)
management and advanced inventory systems.
Comfort working with
contract manufacturers
or third‑party logistics partners.
Proficiency in
QuickBooks Online ,
NetSuite , and advanced
Excel / Google Sheets .
ERP implementation experience or deep familiarity with inventory management tools.
Strong understanding of
GAAP
and eCommerce‑related accounting.
Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site audits and reviews.
A roll‑up‑your‑sleeves attitude and excitement about being part of a small, fast‑moving team.
Bonus points if you have:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Experience with
standard costing ,
demand planning , or
automated reorder systems .
Familiarity with
Shopify ,
GoodDay , or
Flagship .
Exposure to enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
