This role is based in Indianapolis, IN. The Senior Accountant will work within AES Clean Energy, LLC, supporting the fast‑paced, high‑growth renewable segment. The accountancy work involves maintaining accurate records under US GAAP, preparing financial statements, coordinating with auditors, and collaborating with operations to resolve accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities

Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Use software applications to assemble and format data and/or reports.

Plans, organizes and prioritizes work assignments to meet required deadlines.

Compiles, analyzes and reviews financial information in the preparation of reports.

Develops, prepares, audits and reviews reports on a regular monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis.

Analyzes, reconciles and evaluates the accuracy of general ledger accounting details and ensures the amounts are proper and classified correctly.

Monitors and ensures compliance with AES policies, internal controls and corporate policies.

Identifies problem areas, evaluates their causes and takes action to resolve the problems, designing and implementing improvements to existing processes.

Needs SAP and sophisticated Excel skills.

Prepares Consolidated Financial statements using SAP, BW, and BPC or a comparable General Ledger System.

Handles Intercompany Accounting and Elimination Accounting.

Shows a high degree of competence, service and initiative in solving problems independently.

Identifies and understands SEC reporting requirements, coordinating month‑end and periodic activities.

Basic Requirements

BS in Accounting/Finance.

Five (5) years of recent, verifiable, and relevant accounting experience in a public accounting firm and/or publicly traded company.

Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.

In‑depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to align with SEC reporting requirements.

Strong research and project management skills.

Preferred Requirements

CPA preferred.

Ability to grasp and apply technical accounting concepts and to use systems to automate processes and enhance analysis.

Proactive problem‑solver with creative solutions, able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
