Overview The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. With over 650+ professionals, MSG delivers integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions from offices throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia and Alabama.
Due to MSG’s continued growth, a new opening is available for a Project Accountant. We are looking for an individual who is self‑motivated, proactive, and possesses strong organizational and time‑management skills. Prior experience with an Architecture or Engineering firm is preferred; candidates from the construction industry will also be considered.
Responsibilities
Responsible for invoicing in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Maintain contract information, including accurate files of client and subcontractor agreements, and work closely with Project Managers & Principals to prepare project budgets and other pertinent contract information.
Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vision accounting software.
Track monthly invoices, additional service requests and change orders in coordination with Project Managers; may be required to visit other offices on occasion.
Assist Project Managers and Corporate Leadership with account collections, receivables and payables.
Collaborate closely with clients and subcontractors’ accounting departments.
Perform other accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable and unit entry.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Detail‑oriented problem solver.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Prefer an accounting or finance degree.
At least five (5) years of accounting experience; Architecture or Engineering background preferred.
Experience with construction or professional service firms considered.
Proficiency with accounting software packages, Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint preferred, and Microsoft Excel and Word.
