About the Role
A leading automotive manufacturer in the Des Moines area is seeking an experienced
Quality Manager
to lead all quality system, process, and customer compliance functions. This is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining certification to
IATF 16949 , driving continuous improvement, and ensuring consistent product quality across production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain compliance with
IATF 16949
and
ISO 9001
quality management systems.
Lead internal and external audits, corrective actions, and customer quality requirements.
Manage a team of quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
Interface directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Develop and monitor quality metrics, PPAP documentation, and control plans.
Champion root cause analysis and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Ensure calibration, testing, and inspection processes meet company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
5+ years of quality leadership experience in an automotive or precision manufacturing environment.
Proven experience maintaining or implementing
IATF 16949
systems (required).
Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.
Compensation $115,000 per year
