Site Coordinator Overview The Site Coordinator has a vital role in creating a positive and enriching environment where students can thrive beyond the classroom. This position is about fostering creativity, building confidence, and supporting academic and personal growth in a fun and engaging way. With strong leadership and organizational skills, the Site Coordinator ensures that every student feels safe, inspired, and empowered to succeed. As a Site Coordinator supporting the Program Leads, you will manage a team of staff, mentor Program Leads, and help develop their skills to enhance the overall quality of the program. It is a rewarding role that blends education, mentorship, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young lives.
Typical Day for a Site Coordinator
Plan, organize, and oversee daily afterschool programs and activities that align with the organization's mission and student needs.
Ensure programs are engaging, age‑appropriate, and promote academic, social, and emotional development.
Recruit, train, and manage afterschool program staff.
Serve as the primary point of contact for school administration, fostering strong relationships and partnerships between school and afterschool staff to support program success.
Develop staff schedules, assign duties, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Provide ongoing professional development and training to enhance staff effectiveness.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all staff and students.
Address student behavior issues in a positive and constructive manner, following organizational guidelines.
Monitor student attendance and engagement, addressing concerns with parents and school staff as needed.
Collaborate effectively with district staff to support program goals and ensure alignment with school and community needs.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share updates on student progress and program activities.
Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and program evaluations.
Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including licensing and safety requirements.
Develop and manage the program's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Oversee program setup, including materials, space, and equipment.
Coordinate transportation and meals/snacks for students as needed.
Act as the primary point of contact for the afterschool program, representing the organization positively to all stakeholders.
Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in after‑school programming operations and administrative skills.
1+ years’ experience managing a team.
Strong communicator, able to talk to kids, parents, school admin and teachers comfortably, problem solver, team player, and good listener.
Ability to supervise and support staff without constant direction.
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff.
Professional attitude, commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and professional discretion.
Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflicts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and common operating systems.
College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed OR pass an academic proficiency exam.
Pass a TB test and provide proof that it is negative and complete a Live Scan background check.
Required CPR and first aid training, or proof of certification within 12 months.
English–Spanish bilingual speaker highly preferred.
If the school you will be working at requires a COVID‑19 vaccination, then you must provide documentation that shows you are fully vaccinated.
Employment Details The Site Coordinator position is full‑time, non‑exempt, and benefits eligible. This position reports to the Regional Manager.
