Job Summary Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit‑and‑loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects.
Essential Functions
Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s Degree and 5–7 years of experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
Additional certifications: CPA preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills, account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, bank reconciliation, depreciation calculation, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month‑end and quarter‑end close, revenue recognition, spreadsheets, GAAP standards, and accounting software proficiency.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel Requirements No or very little travel likely.
