Emprise Corporation is looking for talented Designers to join our in‑house Visual Communication Design team. Visual Designers will work both independently and as part of a team designing visual solutions in direct support of the engineering and software departments to create enterprise maintenance management and condition monitoring products.

NOTE: This is not an entry level position – you will be expected to have baseline design and technology proficiency and will be taught how to apply your skills within existing projects.

Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary depending on previous experience and team assignment. These may include:

UI/UX Design: Perform research in collaboration with Engineering software requirement teams to gain customer data and insights to inform user experience patterns and decisions

Create wireframes and high‑fidelity prototypes of user interfaces for applications based on defined software requirements, to be viewed on desktop and mobile devices; publish prototypes to proprietary company repositories for documentation and presentation purposes

Document interfaces and design patterns for consistent implementation and reference throughout the lifetime of a project; create design specifications (development hand‑offs) that outline the construction of each interface in detail for software development teams to implement

Provide design support on an as‑needed basis to software development team members to accurately implement designed interfaces in a fast‑paced agile environment; perform quality assurance (QA) testing on multiple web browsers and operating systems from a user interface and user experience perspective on all developed software, adhering to software development schedules and test plans

Training Support Design: Work with Engineering team members to design and develop (print and digital) quick reference guides and user manuals for software products, in accordance with software release schedules

Use Articulate360 to design and develop interactive training based on Engineering and customer‑defined requirements and content; design, develop, and maintain a WordPress‑based course registration website according to customer and team feedback

Use design principles to create intuitive and effective software documentation for web delivery using Adobe RoboHelp, and industry standard version control such as GitHub and SourceTree; design internal and customer‑facing presentations

Brand Identity Design: Maintain corporate website based on company branding guidelines and company needs; maintain blog and news articles on the corporate website using WordPress; create print‑ready production files and work with vendors to ensure the successful delivery of printed materials; provide design support in the creation and execution of branded documents and presentation materials; maintain existing social media platforms by creating scheduled post content

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Design (Graphic Design, Web Design, or Related UI/UX Field) and/or five (5) years equivalent experience

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Mac OS

Proficiency in Figma

Candidate must have a design portfolio (web or print)

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance

Technical savviness (learns applications quickly, troubleshooting abilities)

Strong presentation skills: ability to clearly communicate and present your work to clients, developers, designers, and other stakeholders as needed

Strong working knowledge of core design principles: Layout, Hierarchy, Typography, Color, Web Heuristics

Successful completion of design projects from planning to execution

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

Ability to use an existing UI Kit and design patterns

Ability to stay on top of relevant Design and technology trends

Ability to demonstrate ownership of a project and drive a design from start to completion

Figma

Articulate (Storyline 360)

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Remote Desktop)

Operating Systems: MacOS, Windows (Parallels), iOS, Android

Basic Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (basic coding knowledge desired for website building and communication with developers)
