it's electric
It's electric, a public charging solution that addresses the infrastructural barriers cities face in deploying electric vehicle charging and has been named one of the products that will define technological innovation for the decade and beyond.
We are expanding into Los Angeles, supporting a cleaner, more connected transportation future. As part of our rollout in the city, we are commissioning artists to help us add art at specific installation sites.
Project Scope The project will begin with a single location before a planned expansion across the city. The first location is Koreatown.
Surface Areas for Art
(1) Electrical Service Box
Height: 72.00"
Width: 48.00"
Depth: 24.00"
(5) Concrete Ground Pad (Borders)
Roughly 19" square
Border available for painting limited to between 3-5" as a surround
Creative Freedom You will have full creative freedom to interpret the space in your own style and message. We're looking for work that reflects your artistic voice and complements the surrounding environment.
Medium & Materials Artists are asked to propose durable weather- and graffiti-resistant coatings (e.g., exterior acrylics, spray, protective clear coat).
Application Process To apply, submit a short proposal describing your concept along with a sketch or visual mockup of your design. Your proposal does not need to be overly formal—just help us understand your idea, the story behind it, and how you envision it coming to life on site.
Eligibility
Open to individual artists or teams based in Los Angeles, California.
All proposed work must be original and created by the submitting artist(s).
Artist will retain rights to the artwork but provide a license to display and promote the work at each location for 10 years.
Artists must be able to complete the installation on-site by December 17, 2025.
No age restrictions.
Budget Provide your costs that are fully inclusive of all artist fees, time, and materials.
