Development Manager
to help shape the next wave of true-crime and documentary-style programming. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and storytelling — driving ideas from concept to screen.
What You’ll Do
Oversee the development pipeline from concept through production, ensuring projects meet creative, editorial, and strategic goals.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners — producers, agents, and filmmakers — to identify, evaluate, and refine content ideas.
Generate and pitch new programming concepts for series, specials, and digital initiatives.
Conduct market and audience research to inform development strategies and strengthen programming direction.
Provide editorial feedback and creative input on projects in development.
Build and maintain strong relationships across the production and creative community to source innovative new talent and ideas.
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in true-crime or nonfiction television (documentary, reality, or entertainment).
A proven track record of developing unique, high-impact programming that connects with audiences.
Strong industry relationships with producers, agents, and filmmakers.
Exceptional editorial instincts, research skills, and creative judgment.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools.
