Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
Arizona State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology within the Arizona Cancer Evolution (ACE) Center. The position focuses on developing computational tools to analyze genomic DNA, RNA, methylation, and immune receptor data from cancer samples, with an emphasis on evolutionary biology and machine/deep learning techniques. Successful candidates will be co‑mentored by Dr. Carlo Maley and Dr. Heewook Lee, and will have access to large multi‑omics datasets including the Human Tumor Atlas Network and the ARPH‑H ADAPT clinical trial.
Essential Duties
Analyze genomic data (DNA, RNA, methylation) from cancers and other tissues.
Set up bioinformatics pipelines to measure evolutionary and ecological parameters of tumor samples.
Develop algorithms and pipelines to calculate HLA type and T‑cell receptor repertoire.
Run pipelines on omic data generated from tumor samples.
Analyze resulting measures from clinical samples.
Prepare progress reports and scientific manuscripts.
Present scientific results.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Recent Ph.D. (within the past five years) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology or related field.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience developing bioinformatics software for DNA, RNA, methylation, T-cell receptor, and HLA typing analysis.
Expertise in genomic analysis of cancers and evolutionary analyses.
Experience in machine/deep learning is a plus.
Position: 3‑year fellowship with potential renewal. Full-time.
