Position Overview The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for driving catering and event sales by developing relationships with clients, planning and coordinating events, and ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. This role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented individual who can meet and exceed sales targets while providing top‑tier client service.

Job Duties

Maintain or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue in all special event areas.

Drive sales across a wide range of market segments, including corporate, socials, nonprofit, and wedding clients.

Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume sales environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

Build and maintain long‑term client relationships that generate repeat business and strong customer loyalty.

Proactively participate in industry associations, hospitality organizations, and networking groups to stay connected and increase visibility.

Utilize a variety of sales techniques including persuasive presentation skills, strong closing strategies, and effective negotiation tactics.

Conduct professional and inviting site tours and in‑depth client presentations to showcase venue capabilities.

Actively participate in community/civic activities to maintain awareness within community and create booking opportunities.

Partner closely with the banquet and culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest experiences.

Create detailed and accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate all event details clearly to the operations team.

Assess event needs in real time, make quick decisions, and implement effective solutions when challenges arise.

Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to maintain a competitive edge.

Provide complete and detailed banquet event orders to set the operations team up for success.

Education / Experience

4+ years in Catering Sales / Event Sales required.

Must have experience at a similar size property and with a similar sales volume.

Advanced knowledge of venue features, benefits, and competing venues within the market.

Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.

Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear.

Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Positive attitude, ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment and have fun in the workplace.

Required Skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Excellent knowledge of catering management software, such as Delphi, Certify, Salesforce, etc.

Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.

Work with fluctuating schedule based on departmental requirements.

Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

Strong background in hospitality and event planning.

Must possess strong PC skills with a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Office, Outlook, and CRM platforms.

Base Pay Range $75,000.00 / yr – $85,000.00 / yr
