Job Responsibilities

Work in close conjunction with the attending oncology physician to provide day‑to‑day management for complex and acutely ill cancer patients.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes dieticians, pharmacists, social workers, care managers, child life, PT/OT, and nursing.

Participate in quality improvement, clinical guideline development, implementation, resident, medical student, and clinical research opportunities.

Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education and experience; assess disease presence, preventive health practices, and treatment options; prescribe and administer medications and immunizations; perform procedures; collect and analyze data; and make decisions regarding patient care.

Effectively communicate patient care and clinical information during admissions, referrals, transfers, and discharges; provide data for assessment of patient needs and organizational capabilities.

Actively participate in department/division and system learner training and educational programs; maintain currency in the field through continuing education, literature, and seminars.

Maintain compliance with licensure, credentialing, and institutional policies, including patient rights, informed consent, confidentiality, ethics, and billing; review the timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of information.

Job Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) equivalent.

Unrestricted licensed physician.

Approval/credentialing from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) Medical Staff Services Division.

Schedule & Shift Full time; Day shift (United States of America).
