The MSL/Senior MSL provides scientific and clinical expertise in support of assigned products and related disease states. This field-based role engages in medical and scientific exchange with national and regional thought leaders in uro-oncology, oncology, and immuno-oncology. The position delivers accurate, balanced, and timely medical and scientific information; gathers strategic insights to inform medical and commercial strategies; and supports clinical trial activities within the assigned territory.
The Senior MSL operates at a higher level of independence, assumes a leadership role in strategic initiatives, manages and mentors junior MSLs, provides updates to departmental leadership, and is recognized as a key expert both internally and externally.
Responsibilities Scientific Engagement
Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and thought leaders in prostate cancer, oncology, and immuno-oncology.
Present and discuss scientific, clinical, and real-world data with external stakeholders in a compliant manner.
Represent the organization at scientific congresses, symposia, and advisory boards; capture and communicate key insights to internal teams.
For Sr. MSL: Lead complex external engagements, serve as a primary liaison for high-priority KOLs/HCPs, influence national-level thought leader strategy, and organize and coordinate conference coverage.
Clinical Research Support
Identify and engage potential investigators for sponsored clinical trials.
Facilitate communication between investigators and clinical operations.
Respond to investigator-initiated trial (IIT) inquiries and provide guidance on submission requirements.
Medical Education
Deliver non-promotional, scientifically balanced presentations to HCPs and internal teams.
Support the training of field and headquarters colleagues on disease state, clinical data, and immunotherapy science.
For Sr. MSL: Lead cross‑functional educational initiatives and act as a senior scientific resource for Medical Affairs.
Strategic Insight & Collaboration
Gather, analyze, and share field intelligence to inform medical and commercial strategies.
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of the evolving prostate cancer treatment landscape and immunotherapy science.
For Sr. MSL: Serve as a medical lead for cross‑functional projects, helping shape territory and national medical strategies.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
Conduct all activities in compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry guidelines.
Manage territory planning and documentation using CRM and field reporting systems.
For Sr. MSL: Report monthly team activities using dashboard‑based metric system.
Qualifications MSL
Advanced scientific/clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years of experience in an FDA‑regulated industry, including at least 2 years of clinical, research, or relevant therapeutic experience (oncology, urology, immunology preferred).
Strong presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time within the assigned territory.
Internal CRO experience is required.
Stable work history without short‑term contract employment is required.
Senior MSL (in addition to above)
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an MSL in oncology, immuno‑oncology, or related therapeutic area.
Demonstrated leadership in HCP/KOL engagement, strategic planning, and cross‑functional initiatives.
Proven leadership experience managing direct reports, including mentoring and training other MSLs.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in cellular therapy or immunotherapy in a commercial setting.
Established network of HCP/KOL relationships in prostate cancer or related oncology specialties.
Familiarity with investigator‑initiated trial processes and clinical research protocols.
