Clinical Pharmacy Specialist . This role offers a chance to provide key clinical services and contribute to patient care initiatives within a leading healthcare organization.
Location: Onsite in Cleveland, OH
Salary: $115,000 – $145,000 per year
Position Overview The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, representing our client, will deliver a broad spectrum of pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, evidence-based practice, and guideline development. The specialist will collaborate directly with physicians and healthcare teams, participate in training future pharmacists and residents, and engage in local and system-wide committees and workgroups to advance clinical pharmacy practices.
Key Responsibilities
Providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services such as drug information, therapy monitoring, patient consultations, and healthcare staff education.
Investigating and reporting adverse drug reactions.
Participating in Medication Safety and Therapeutics Committees to evaluate drug usage requests and review formulary relevance.
Acting as a resource for clinical pharmacists and healthcare professionals in resolving medication-related issues.
Delivering continuing education to pharmacy staff and serving as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students.
Contributing actively to local and system-level initiatives relevant to clinical pharmacy.
Additional Duties Adherence to organizational policies, documentation of clinical activities, and compliance with all privacy regulations governing Protected Health Information (PHI).
Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy, preferably with completion of an ASHP‑accredited residency or 3‑5 years of relevant experience.
Less than 1 year of experience may be considered with appropriate training in clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and drug interactions.
Valid Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph) license in Ohio.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing systems is preferred.
