Project Ropa
Help Organize Clothes and Create Hygiene Kits
Project Ropa, Gardena, California, United States, 90248
About Us:
Project Ropa is a small nonprofit organization on a mission to reduce waste and restore dignity to those in need by providing clothing and hygiene essentials.
Project Ropa operates the only Mobile Clothing Closet of its kind in the Los Angeles area. On a bi-weekly basis our retrofitted van delivers hope as well as hygiene kits, drinking water and a full selection of adult clothing, shoes and accessories all neatly displayed on racks and shelves to unhoused and low-income individuals and families at service sites in the Los Angeles area. At each location we operate in tandem with other mobile service providers which can include showers, ID replacement, food pantries, medical and dental clinics and employment and housing resources.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will help with organize clothes, creating hygiene kits and assist with stocking our van for our direct services. We have volunteer shifts available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am-2:30pm and on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am-1pm.
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
We request a one-time minimum donation of $25 per person to volunteer with us. All volunteers must sign our volunteer forms prior to volunteering with us. Once completed all volunteers are provided on a monthly basis with our monthly volunteer signup calendar to select shifts that work with your schedule.
Please note:
We are only able to accommodate up to five volunteers at a time in our warehouse. We are unable to accommodate larger groups. If you have any questions email us at:
