As a Psychiatry Account Manager, you will lead the promotion of Lundbeck’s psychiatry portfolio, executing sales and marketing strategies with comprehensive clinical knowledge to drive sales performance. You will address commercialization challenges in a rapidly changing environment and demonstrate strong capabilities in planning, selling, customer development, market expertise, reimbursement, and compliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Business Planning & Account Leadership
Use digital tools and data insights to create opportunities, develop strategy and tactics, allocate resources, monitor progress, and adjust for maximum sales performance. Selling
Deliver clear, compelling messages to customers, probe needs, handle objections, and close every call with actionable commitments to drive behavioral change. Customer Development
Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, incorporating “total office” account management. Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise
Gather and validate key market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities. Reimbursement
Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics, anticipate and address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) using Lundbeck resources. Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance
Apply knowledge of the pharmaceutical and regulatory environment, including adherence to Lundbeck policies and FDA regulations regarding the promotion of pharmaceutical and medical products. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university. 2+ years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device sales or related healthcare sales experience. High proficiency on product and disease training exams, including annual certification. Self‑starter with strong work ethic and outstanding communication skills. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Live within 40 miles of the territory boundaries. Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company requirements. Meet and comply with reasonable industry‑standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers or customer facilities. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Previous experience within a specialty product sales force. Experience promoting and detailing products specific to CNS/neuroscience (depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder). Documented successful sales performance. Ownership and accountability for the development and execution of integrated account plans. Strong analytical background and experience using sales data reporting tools. Experience in product launches. Previous experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co‑promotions). Strong leadership through participation in committees, rotations, panels and related activities. TRAVEL
Willingness, or ability, to travel up to 30%‑40% domestically to meet the customer base and internal personnel and attend 4‑8 internal/external conferences per year. Salary Pay Range: $117,000 - $137,000 with an additional sales incentive target of $39,000. Benefits include flexible paid time off, medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) match, and a company car.
