Overview

Software is how we can make the world a better place, and we are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help shape our products and the messaging around them to excite developers and motivate buyers.
This is a high-impact, highly cross-functional role where you will be instrumental in shaping the market's perception and success of GitHub's enterprise, AI, and/or security solutions. Our small, nimble PMM team means you won't be siloed; you'll have the opportunity to take ownership and make a significant impact across the entire product lifecycle.
You'll be the voice of developers and our customers, translating their needs into core messaging and positioning. This isn't just about crafting a message-it's about driving clarity for go-to-market partners through launch, campaign, and messaging briefs that directly support product adoption, pipeline creation, and revenue growth.
This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of a product used by millions of developers worldwide. You'll be at the intersection of AI, security, and developer tools, working in a highly collaborative environment with a small team where your contributions have a direct, visible impact on the business.
Responsibilities
Drive Go-to-Market Strategy:
Support product launches, from defining the strategy to executing it with cross-functional partners. You'll leverage web, press, blogs, social media, and influencer marketing to drive successful adoption.
Craft the Narrative:
Build compelling messaging and positioning that resonate with developers and support a wide range of functions, from demand marketing to sales enablement.
Be the Expert:
Act as a product subject matter expert for the entire company, influencing key decisions on the product roadmap, pricing, and packaging.
Amplify Developer Insights:
Continuously develop a deep understanding of our audiences and the market by partnering with customer research, business insights, and developer relations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
5+ years experience in Marketing
OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in Marketing
OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in Marketing
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) product marketing at a high-growth SaaS or AI company (or equivalent experience).
Experience marketing to developer audiences, translating highly technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders-from engineers to executives.
Experience supporting strategic product launches for B2B software in the SaaS or AI space.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of B2B software business models, with a track record of developing programs that drive significant business growth and pipeline generation.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with a high degree of autonomy, a bias for action, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Experience supporting go-to-market strategies and products, including helping to develop demos for revenue, field, and event teams.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation Range
The base salary range for this job is USD $79,500.00 - USD $210,700.00 /Yr.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
