General Laborer
As a General Laborer at Steed, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our scrap metal recycling facility. You will be responsible for various tasks that contribute to the efficient processing and handling of scrap metals. Your efforts will support our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility while ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling: Assist in the sorting, loading, and unloading of scrap metal materials, ensuring proper handling to minimize waste and damage. Site Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and organized, including the removal of debris and maintaining equipment and tools in good condition. Equipment Operation: Safely operate basic machinery and tools, such as forklifts and hand tools, in accordance with company policies and safety regulations. Quality Control: Inspect materials for quality and compliance with company standards, reporting any issues to supervisors. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members to meet daily production goals and foster a supportive and cooperative work environment. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, participating in safety meetings and ensuring personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times. Training Participation: Engage in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to scrap metal processing and industry best practices. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a labor or warehouse environment is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Ability to perform physical work, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Strong commitment to safety practices and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines carefully. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Basic knowledge of tools and machinery is advantageous. Benefits
