We currently have a career opportunity for an Lead ACE developer with Java skills to join our team. While our headquarters are in St. Louis, Missouri, this is a remote position.

Job Overview:

As a Lead Technical Consultant you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will work with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement integration flows in IBM ACE using Message Flows, Message Sets, ESQL, Java Compute Nodes (JCN), and Mapping nodes.
  • Lead or participate in migration projects from IBM IIB to ACE, including code refactoring, compatibility analysis, and modernization.
  • Develop reusable Java components and custom logic within JCN for complex transformation and orchestration.
  • Perform Unit testing and Integration testing to validate the migrated ACEv13 Apps and Flows
  • Troubleshoot to identify and resolve any errors locally as well as in Containerization environment
  • Work with various protocols and formats such as MQ, SOAP, REST, HTTP, JDBC, JSON, XML, CSV, and Kafka.
  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of integration flows.
  • Collaborate with architects and business analysts to translate requirements into scalable integration designs.
  • Deploy and manage ACE applications across Dev, QA, and Production environments using CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring best practices using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, or ACE Toolkit logs.
  • Ensure secure and compliant integrations through authentication, authorization, and encryption standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment guides.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong hands-on experience in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE v12 or later) and IBM Integration Bus (IIB v10).
  • Proficient in Java programming, with experience building and integrating Java Compute Nodes (JCN).
  • Strong Hands-on experience with having Apps deployed on Independent Integration Server in a Containerization environment.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting Apps and Flows deployed on an independent Integration Server in a Containerization environment to identify and resolve any bugs and issues.
  • Proven track record in IIB to ACE migration projects, including code modernization and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in ESQL, message modeling, and schema transformations.
  • Solid understanding of SOA, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with IBM MQ, HTTP/HTTPS, JDBC, and file-based integrations.
  • Familiarity with Git, Maven, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Good knowledge of error handling, transaction management, and message flow optimization.
  • Exposure to cloud deployment models (AWS/Azure) for ACE runtime is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms is a plus.
  • A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $93,600.00 to $170,640.00. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
