Job Description
Critical Care Anesthesiologist Opening in Jackson, MI Detroit 70mSeeking a Anesthesiologist with Critical Care fellowship training to join its growing ICU and surgical team, at Level 2 Trauma Center delivering exceptional care across south-central Michigan. This is a full-time, hospital-employed role for a physician passionate about both critical care medicine and anesthesia, within a collaborative, high-acuity hospital setting.
ICU Coverage:
Provide 8–12 weeks/year of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) coverage
Home call coverage during ICU weeks
Supervise a team of experienced APPs managing complex post-op patients (cardiac surgery, TAVR, major vascular)
Anesthesia Coverage:
General OR anesthesia
Obstetric anesthesia
Healthy pediatric cases
OR call shared proportionally with ICU service
Participate in clinical decision-making, care coordination, and protocol development
Engage in education/mentoring with residents and advanced practice providers
Use Epic EMR system Ideal Candidate
Fellowship-trained in Critical Care Medicine
Strong interest in high-acuity inpatient care and anesthesia
Able to balance both ICU and OR responsibilities effectively
A collaborative and adaptable team player* Willing to live within 1 hour of Jackson, MI and not seeking alternate shifts or concurrent positions Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible candidates must become certified within 2 years of start)
Fellowship trained in Critical Care Medicine – Required
Michigan Medical License or willingness to obtain – Required
BLS, ACLS, PALS – Must be current or obtained prior to start
DEA & CSR/CDS – Must be obtained prior to start (no exemptions)
COVID and Flu vaccinations – Required
Clean malpractice and license history – Required
Open to H1B and J1 visa candidates Compensation & Benefits
