Job Purpose The Senior Trade Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a dynamic customs compliance program focused on the Americas within our global operations. This position is responsible for developing policies and processes, overseeing operational execution, and advising leadership on trade risks and opportunities across our supply chain. The role demands extensive technical knowledge of import and export regulations, including HS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, dual-use controls, and sanctions compliance. Key Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert on customs valuation, classification, country of origin, and trade programs to help the organization navigate regulatory challenges while maintaining efficient, compliant supply chains. Provide leadership through influence and coaching to operational customs teams and stakeholders. Strategic Oversight & Risk Management Design and implement the company's customs compliance strategy to align with US regulations, ensuring adherence to CBP, BIS, and OFAC requirements. Identify and evaluate global customs risks, proposing effective mitigation strategies and escalating issues when necessary. Act as the primary expert for US import and export regulations, guiding the organization through complex compliance challenges. Customs Compliance Program Leadership Provide authoritative guidance on critical customs compliance areas: Customs Valuation:

Ensure compliance with transaction value methodologies as per CBP regulations; align with FDA-regulated product pricing, intercompany transfer pricing, and R&D cost structures. Country of Origin:

Oversee processes for determining country of origin, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance through substantial transformation analysis and supplier declarations. Tariff Classification:

Support the classification of products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS), including handling ruling requests and updates. Trade Preference Programs:

Assess and guide the use of free trade agreements, duty deferral, and other applicable benefits. Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on customs impacts associated with new product launches, sourcing changes, M&A activities, and supply chain adjustments. Collaborate with legal, procurement, finance, tax, and operational teams to incorporate trade compliance into business processes and decision-making. Ensure the accuracy of trade attributes in ERP and compliance platforms (e.g., SAP GTS) for reliable reporting and operational efficiency. Audit & Regulatory Interface Lead the company's response to CBP audits and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Maintain comprehensive records to demonstrate compliance under US customs law. Build productive relationships with regulatory authorities and external partners to foster transparency and cooperation. Training & Awareness Develop training and communication strategies to enhance compliance awareness within daily operations. Promote accountability by equipping stakeholders with essential knowledge of customs requirements and obligations. Stay updated on regulatory changes and emerging compliance trends, sharing insights across the business to promote proactive compliance. Quality System Duties and Responsibilities Maintain adherence to all quality requirements, embedding quality into every aspect of work. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, law, or related field required; advanced degree or US Customs Broker License preferred. Experience:

8+ years in global trade compliance, ideally within the medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors; familiarity with FTZ operations and dual-use technologies in MedTech is advantageous. Proven track record of advising on compliance within highly regulated global supply chains, demonstrating an ability to view both business and supply chain processes holistically. Comprehensive knowledge of US import regulations and customs topics: HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, FDA import requirements, and duty regimes. Experience with FDA-regulated products and coordination with customs brokers for medical goods. Familiarity with SAP GTS or similar trade management systems is preferred. Insight into global customs regimes (e.g., EU Union Customs Code, China GAC) is a plus. Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills within a global context. Motivated with a strong desire to enhance processes and achieve results. Strong quantitative, written, and verbal communication abilities; proficient in Microsoft Office. Travel International travel required on average 20% annually, subject to project needs.
